It’s been a very busy week as we are preparing for Escalate Live! We built Escalate Live to help you in moving your business forward in tangible ways. And because we want to make this eduction accessible, we are opening it up to EVERYONE who wants to learn, no matter where you are in the world.

The In-Person Experience provides education, community, conversation, and the support of fellow Escalate Photographers who are sharing the same learning experience as you.
The Free Online Viewer Option allows those of you at home to view the conference proceedings if you can’t join us in person.

Either way, it will be a great experience for everyone.

Attending In Person

What’s the difference between being an Escalate Online Viewer and being an In Person Attendee?

Well, much like the TED Conference, being an In Person Attendee is a different experience than viewing the event from afar. The big difference is that by attending Escalate you will be interacting face to face with the Escalate Speakers and other photographers.

As an In Person Attendee you will be part of the core group of photographers who experience Escalate together, and who are committed to moving their business and their craft forward. We hope you will carry this commitment and support far past your conference days together and into your daily life as a working photographer. Suffice it to say, we think that’s a pretty special set up for In Person Attendees.

Plus, only In Person Attendees get perks like a Virtual Goodie Bag and Door Prizes. Just announced this week – Adobe will be giving away a free copy of their just-released Photoshop CS5, along with a copy of Lightroom 2!

The Live Broadcast

If you’ve signed up for the online broadcast, you’ll be joining thousands of fellow photographers from around the world! We are really excited about using new technologies to be able to provide this service!

A few pointers about the Online Broadcast:

Before the event you’ll be emailed information on how to view online. If you can stream a youtube video on your internet connection, you should be able to view the live broadcast.
This is a LIVE broadcast and will only be broadcast in this free format ONCE. Some form of the video might be available after the event for purchase, but if you want to catch something specific, the best bet is to watch it live.
We are excited about creating an amazing event for both our in-person attendees and online viewers. We want to make sure that online viewers have every That being said, we will be working with relatively new technologies – if there are technical glitches, we can’t guarantee the streaming video/audio quality for the entirety of the conference.

The Online Broadcast and You

This week, we made it possible for photographers to register to watch the Escalate LIVE 2010 Conference online for free. In the process however, we received feedback that this alternative should have been made available sooner. Looking back on it, as first time conference producers, we agree. We simply should have done that and we sincerely apologize.

To make amends for the confusion, we are happy to offer a full refund to anyone who purchased a conference ticket who would rather watch the event online than experience Escalate in person. We’ll also waive all cancellation fees. Just email your request to connect@escalatelive.com and we’ll refund you immediately.

That said, we are thrilled at how Escalate is shaping up for those of you who will be here with us. For those who can’t come though, our hope in offering the broadcast is to extend, as best we can, what we’re creating to as many creative professionals as possible.

Either way, we can’t wait to share with you on May 17-18th. If there is anything else we can do to make this a great event for you or if you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out to us directly. We’d love to hear from you.

Escalate Live is one of the most exciting photography events to come about in quite some time. With the amazing speakers, information, and talent being shared, we know how important it is to reach out to as many people as we can.

However with the small location, and difficulty of getting all the photographers in the world to Newport Beach, we wanted to make sure that this was something everyone could benefit from, and take part in. We are please to announce that the whole conference will be streamed live online! That’s right, no matter where you are, all you need is your computer and you can be an Online Viewer of Escalate Live 2010. We are so excited to open this to everyone in the world, and even better it’s simple.

All you need to do is register and you have your virtual front row seat at Escalate Live right from your own home.

With Escalate Live 2010 just around the corner, we need your help in deciding who to award the Escalate Scholarship to. Thanks to the generosity of two donors, the Escalate Scholarship will provide two lucky candidates a ticket to Escalate Live 2010.
